Week 6 Story: The Divine Sniper

And then the fight began.
Rama leaps forwards, leveling his rifle at Ravana and pulling the trigger in a single smooth motion, a motion which had been practiced thousands of times. The 5.56 Agniastra round blasts off the top of Ravana's skull and explodes into a mass of hellfire, scorching the entire battlefield. Roaring from the pain of loosing his first head, Ravana assumes his true form, a terrible demon with ten heads and twenty arms.
In this terrible form, Ravana draws twenty desert eagles, one in each hand, and fires of a barrage of of 50 caliber action express, each bullet blessed by a different god. An Indraastra bullets explode into a showers of projectiles, while incendiary bullets blessed by Agni turn into storms of fire. Ravana showers the entire battlefield with his attacks, but none find their target, as Rama deftly defends himself. Despite all of Ravana's power, Rama easily sees the gaps where the bullets did not cover. He moves between the bullets effortlessly, shooting a handful out of the air with his own weapon, and returns three rounds of his own. All of Rama's bullets struck Ravana, each in a different head, setting them ablaze and destroying them.
Seeing his strategy fail, Ravana charges at Rama, propelling himself forward with his own gunfire and slamming into Rama. From their, the demon king hurls Rama high into the air. Ravana leaps upwards to kill his target, and once more opens fire. Space distorts and vanishes as Antardhana Astra rounds are discharged, lightning arcs from 50 caliber bullets blessed by Indra, and torrents of water sweep the battlefield as Varunastra tear through the wind, but again, not a single bullet could find its mark, for Rama deflects each of Ravana's hands from himself as the latter fired each weapon.
Seeing this fearsome weapon unholstered, Ravana desperately attempts to defend himself. He swats at the barrel, hoping to prevent the weapon from lining up form its target, but Rama easily moves the weapon back onto line. Another of Ravana's heads explodes spectacularly, and the demon truly begins to understand that this is his doom. Hoping to deny his destiny, Ravana fires upon Rama once more, this time with a volley of hollow-point Bhargavastra, confident that the ensuing swarm of deadly bullets would end Rama. Those hopes were in vain, however, as Rama's next shot clears the entire swarm away, and Ravana loses one more head.
As he lands Ravana's four remaining heads begin to bicker, frustrated with one another and fearful of what Rama would bring next, but as they fight among one another, Rama's next round discharges into another of Ravana's heads. With just three of his heads remaining, Ravana flees, hoping to retrieve the one weapon that could defeat his enemy, but Rama swiftly ends yet another head before Ravana can retrieve his weapon.
Despite Rama's marksmanship, Ravana finds what he was searching for, and A-10 Warthog. Seizing the weapon with his many hands, Ravana tears the plane off of the gun, but not before yet another of his heads explodes from Rama's infallible aim.
With only one of his heads still remaining, Ravana aims the barrel of the GAU-8 Avenger squarely at Rama's chest, and fires. As the weapon discharges, Ravana shrieks his final, futile boast.
"Burn in the everlasting fire of 30 millimeter, anti-tank, Brahmaastra at 4000 rounds per minute! Be completely annihilated! Your death will be for nothing!"
As thousands of 30 millimeter, anti-tank, Brahmaastra filled the sky, Rama drew his most powerful weapon, the E23A2, an experimental, massively hyper-sonic railgun, capable of accelerating a 2 kilogram, solid tungsten, anti-carrier, Brahmaastra to 3000 meters per second. Rama prays thrice, aims twice, and fires once. The massive projectile deflects one of Ravana's bullets before ricocheting off and deflecting another, then another, and then another. The entire mass of bullets fired at Rama parts leaving him completely unharmed, while The Divine Sniper's Brahmaastra buries itself firmly into Ravana's single remaining head. The energy dispersed in the final collision is so massive that it vaporizes Ravana's last remaining head, killing him and ending the terrible reign of the demon king.
Author's Note
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
All jokes aside, I just envisioned the battle between Rama and Ravana with modern weapons. Ravana has twenty hands, so obviously he should use twenty desert eagles (one of the most powerful handguns ever made). Seeing as both characters seemed to prefer Astra, it was easy just to give them bullets blessed by various deities. I also really like the A-10 if you didn't notice. Ravana's line is a Gurren Lagan reference. The weapon escalation was also fun to play around with.
P.S. the E23A2 is not a real railgun.

Hi Jenon! I enjoyed reading your story. It felt like I was watching an action/war movie! I liked how you had all real guns and then ended the story with this crazy souped-out made up gun. I do want to point out that you used the wrong form of 'there' in your fourth paragraph. It should be "there" and not "their".
ReplyDeleteHey Jenon,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed how to blended together traditional and modern aspects of this story. I just finished watching "The Punisher," so reading this story gave me some great imagery! I also wanted to shout out and give you props on how accurate this story was. You could have just said "gun" or "sniper" but you went in depth as to which type of firearm was used and what ammunition it used. While I am not 100% sure if what you wrote was actually accurate, as I am not too knowledgeable in firearms, I'll take your word for it. Great story!
Hello Jenon! I really enjoy how you incorporated weapons in your story and how much details you put in it. You made the story very modern and it just reminded me of my Netflix show I have been watching. I would say just revise some of your words that are used incorrectly and sentence fragments. Overall, good job on your story!
ReplyDeleteHey Jenon.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, the amount of description you used within your writing was great! I imagined everything that was going on during that battle and it was awesome. I could definitely see a modern Rama and Ravana fighting using those weapons. It was awesome getting to picture what guns they had used and I am glad you were specific with the type of guns they used. Great work.
Hey Jenon, first off I loved your descriptive way of writing you utilized in this story. I think the details made the story much more interesting, as people reading this would know much more of what was happening than without the details. It was a fresh take on a normal story and I rally enjoyed it!
